The College of Conscious Living teaches internationally accredited, holistic, integrated arts therapy counselling and practitioner courses and offers creative arts therapy workshops.
Holistic integrated creative arts therapy (HICAT) is a mental health profession that uses the creative process of artmaking to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages.
Our courses are delivered in two modality options: via face to face / in person teaching on campus once a week for 6 months, in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast; and online over 12 months with monthly teacher contact, making the course accessible from anywhere in the world.
Both our face to face and online training courses offer dedicated, teacher support from experienced practitioners, counsellors and trainers to help you become a holistic integrated creative arts therapy practitioner.
The professional and evidence-based education that we teach at the College of Conscious Living offers our students the opportunity to experience and immerse themselves in our techniques and therapies. The personal insights you discover through learning each modality can then be integrated into your training, to benefit yourself or your existing and future clients.
We teach detailed theory and the fundamental principles of arts therapy in each course, including art therapy, tactile therapy, music / sound therapy, dance / movement therapy, storytelling / drama therapy and more to facilitate discussion, understanding, expression and healing in our students and in professional environments.
Art experience or qualifications are not required to undertake the course as the art is conduit to healing and expression, rather than the end goal.
Having taught hundreds of students since creating the college in 2019, founder Sanja Stojcic believes that when students experience the education for themselves, it creates a much stronger capacity to facilitate the therapy exercises and training in professional and personal environments.
Students who are drawn to the College of Conscious Living course training tend to be motivated by two main drivers. Some students want to continue their professional development within the counselling, therapy and health arenas. These include working specifically with children and gaining our education to help support the creative process for kids.
Others wish to implement their training in aged care, or in very specific niches such as expecting mums, while others wish to be trauma-informed so that they can work with people facing specific ailments such as anxiety and depression.
Other students choose to undertake study with our college for personal growth and development, to gain knowledge and insights to better cope with stress and challenges in their lives, or to help overcome some experiences they may have had in the past. Often both of these motivations become fulfilled by students when they complete the course.
Our graduates receive a qualification in holistic integrated creative arts therapy and can join the International Institute of Complementary Therapists, the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine and the Complementary Medical Association to obtain professional insurance should they choose to apply their knowledge professionally.
Graduates who have undertaken the course for their personal development share with us that they gained tools, knowledge and confidence to apply in their lives and learnt so much about themselves assist themselves and others in their life's journey.
The College of Conscious Living also offers workshops using creative arts such as painting, drawing, journaling, meditation and more, to bring people together for healing, self-development, fun and connecting.
Every workshop is hosted by a qualified and experienced creative arts practitioner and is scheduled according to our calendar. Workshops can also be booked for facilitation at events, conferences, team-building days and more.
Founder Sanja Stojcic also offers sessions in holistic counselling, creativity and art as therapy and in naturopathy to assist people seeking support, clarity and guidance.
Vision: To create an environment for every individual to feel safe, witnessed and emotionally connected.
Mission: To inspire humanity through education, creativity and healing.
